Satellite imagery analysis - 969th Tank Reserve Base (1JAN2023)
Over the last few days, we have seen a big increase in the number of people who subscribed to our substack.
As a thank-you gift, we would like to share a satellite imagery analysis of a Belarusian 969th Tank Reserve Base in Urechye, Belarus.
Unfortunately, we are not allowed to share the imagery openly, so it is only available to paid subscribers (Sorry, this is not our policy but that of the imagery provider).
We strive to provide at least one satellite imagery analysis per week to paid subscribers. However, its availability is very weather dependent. We had no clean shots of anything for the past two weeks.
Here is the written analysis:
Imagery acquired 01JAN shows a decreased presence of main battle tanks T-72 by 5, infantry fighting vehicle BMP-1/2 by 20, armoured personnel carrier BTR-80/90 by 28, armoured recovery vehicles by 13 and trucks by 17 in the parking area, compared to imagery from 5DEC.
Furthermore, no turretless BMP-1/2 are visible in the image.
The decreased presence of armoured vehicles suggests continued equipment drawdown from the 969th Tank Reserve Base.
Altogether, since 30JUL, the following pieces of equipment were withdrawn from the base:
T-72 MBTs: 21
BMP-1/2s: 59
BTR-80/90: 77,
Armoured recovery vehicles: 35
Trucks: 58
The images below are comparative. We compare the changes at the base between 5DEC2022 and 1JAN2023. Please check the dates on the slide.
